Leigh Leopards are pleased to confirm that Scott Burns, Head Coach of the Leopards LDRL team, has been named as a Finalist in the Sporting Chance Award- National Learning Disabilities & Autism Sports Awards.
The prestigious awards are to be held in Birmingham on Friday 21 June at the International Conference Centre (ICC Birmingham).
Leopards are the only Rugby League club to be represented at the awards evening.
Scott Burns said: “It is a pleasure to be nominated personally for a national award, but also to carry the Leopards name throughout the country.
“This shows how inclusive we are as a club.
“To be the only Rugby League club represented, demonstrates how far we have come as a club and how we push and promote inclusive forms of the sport.”
2024 is the third season of the club’s disability team which has grown year on year.
The Leopards’ LDRL team now has a squad of over 30 players and this year has commenced taster sessions to promote Wheelchair Rugby League.
