Phone, Check, Keys Check, Wallet… oh.
We’ve all lost one of the three daily essentials and there’s nothing worse. Whether it’s the car keys being moved by kids on a Monday morning making you late for work. Or putting your phone down somewhere on silent and then forgetting where before turning the house upside down, only to find it down the side of the couch.
Now imagine, going away for a nice relaxing weekend somewhere in the country to unwind and destress in a private jacuzzi or go for a nice long walk around beautiful greenery to clear the mind. Only to pull up at home after your trip to discover your wallet isn’t in it’s usual spot in your back pocket. It would very quickly undo all the relaxation and have panic set in.
That’s what happened to Leigh Leopards Gold member, Thomas, recently while staying with club sponsors Leisure Resorts at their location in Ullswater Heights. However luck would soon change as the wallet was found by a staff member when cleaning the members lodge and on discovering the wallet noticed a Leigh Leopards Membership card. They contacted us here at the club and we were able to reach out to Thomas and arrange for wallet and owner to be reunited.
The team at Leisure Resorts, took their act of kindness even further and slipped a 20% off their next booking into the wallet to so they could return and have another crack at trying to unwind, and hopefully this time leave with all their valuables.
Thomas, who was visiting Leisure Resorts for a second time after discovering them through the club’s partnership, noticed the Wallet was missing before leaving but couldn’t find it anywhere presumed the Wallet lost for good but was relieved when he received a call from the club to say his wallet would be returned, he said “It was a really nice touch, a really nice gesture, not a lot of places would do something like that.”
Thomas who recently moved to Hong Kong for work says he’ll be trying to get back to as many games as possible “I’ve already looked at flights for the Grand Final”.
Leisure Resorts CEO Gary Molloy on the lost wallet “It’s always brilliant to see Leopards fans around our locations and we see plenty and they definitely catch the eye in their Leopard Print shirts and it really fills us with pride to see our name on that shirt. When we discovered the wallet belonged to a Leopards fan we were happy to get a quick resolution to get the wallet back to it’s owner before there could be too much stress, and we thought we’d try and make good on a bad situation by including a discount voucher for the owners next trip, which hopefully brought a bigger smile when the wallet was returned.
Owner Derek Beaumont saw the funny side. “Anyone who knows me will know I’m terrible for misplacing things so this story was very relatable to me, I’m really happy to see there was a resolution and it makes me proud as an owner we’ve got partners at the club who will go the extra mile to help our fans.”
