The Wait will soon be Over: Leigh Leopards Return to The Leopards’ Den!
It’s been 61 long days since the roar of The Leopards’ Den crowd last echoed through the stadium. But today, Leigh Leopards are delighted to announce that our return is just 95 days away! Mark your calendars for Sunday, 23rd February, as we kick off our home campaign at The Leopards Den’ in Round 2 against the Huddersfield Giants—the same team that visited us for the opening game of the 2024 season.
In that first encounter, the Giants capitalised on a heavily injury-hit Leopards side, securing a 16-8 victory. However, the tables turned as the season progressed. Thanks to the swing fixture system, we faced the Giants twice more, claiming victories in both clashes—16-10 and 20-16—ultimately winning the head-to-head series 2-1.
This time, fans can look forward to an excitingly revamped Leigh Leopards. Head Coach Adrian Lam and Head of Rugby Chris Chester have overseen sweeping changes to the squad, welcoming a host of new talent, including Isaac Liu, David Armstrong, Tesi Niu, and Ethan O’Neill, among others.
Our Round 2 showdown against the Giants will mark the debut of this refreshed Leopards line-up, proudly wearing the new Reebok home shirt. Before welcoming the Giants to The Leopards Den, our 2025 season kicks off where last year’s journey ended—with a trip to The Brick Community Stadium to face local rivals, the Wigan Warriors, on 13th February.
Taking on last year’s clean sweep champions in their own backyard is no easy task, but Adrian Lam and the team are ready to embrace the challenge. A strong performance against the Warriors would set the tone for the season and make a bold statement to the rest of Super League.
Leigh Leopards are delighted to confirm their Rivals Round fixture for the Betfred Super League 2025 season.
Leopards will entertain Warrington Wolves in Round 8 at the Leopards’ Den.
Games between the two rivals always produce exciting, heart-stopping drama and attract big crowds and this Rivals fixture is sure to follow in the tradition.
The game will be played on Saturday 19 April 2025 with a 1-30pm kick-off.
