A message from the operational board

regarding membership and general ticket entrance to LSV

We are aware of significant misuse of general tickets and more disappointingly membership cards using incorrect categories which is depriving the club of its correct income and is unfair to members and customers using them correctly.

As per the terms and conditions of membership and sale of individual tickets, any misuse renders the membership or ticket revoked without refund.

In order to ensure this misuse doesn’t continue, for the next home fixture against St Helens on Friday 12 September, we will be implementing a turnstile operative to verify the card and ticket type against the person attempting entry prior to proceeding through the turnstile, in addition to the internal check that should take place.

Any membership or ticket being found to be being misused will be immediately confiscated with entry refused without any refunds as per the terms and conditions of sale.

Any cards confiscated at the turnstiles will be passed to the club on Monday (15th September) where any member can make contact regarding the grounds for confiscation.

Where a member attends a turnstile and has inadvertently brought another family member’s card for the wrong tier, the card will still be confiscated, and the member may visit the ticket office and have a paper ticket issued against their card that they have inadvertently failed to bring. This will of course be subject to the card not having already been scanned and will render the card invalid for that fixture only.

This process will require ID, and verification checks at the ticket office, so it is strongly advised that members check before heading to the stadium that they have their own card in their possession. In these circumstances the club will be notified that the confiscated card was a genuine error, and the member had their own membership that they had not brought and hadn’t been used, and the card will be returned to the member.

For the avoidance of doubt, age categories are deemed to be the member’s age at the first game of the season (13 February 2025). If a member entered another category because their birthday was on or after the 14th February, their membership is valid at the lower tier for the duration of the season. As per the terms and conditions of memberships and LSV entry no member or ticket holder under the age of 12 years can gain entry without being accompanied by an adult.

Members and ticket purchasers may be asked to provide a valid ID where there is a concern around categorisation.

It is the member’s responsibility to be able to demonstrate the valid use of the card or ticket through their ID if asked, as is common practice in stadiums and arenas.

Membership cards can be transferred among family and friends but only for the age category for which it was purchased or below. A membership card can be upgraded for a game by visiting the ticket office and requesting a paper ticket for that game, disabling the card and paying the difference between the two categories. Under 5’s free memberships cannot be upgraded given that they were being used as place holders. As has always been the case this season no upgrades of memberships are permitted for North Stand entry.

Members can sell tickets and request a printed ticket should they not wish to pass their card but only for their class of membership and it is the responsibility of the ticket holder to ensure it is in the right category for their age group to ensure entry. The club does not permit the transfer or sale of tickets for amounts above the individual ticket price for that category, and should it find memberships being used in this way it reserves the right to revoke that membership under the terms and conditions of sale.

All available blocks and tickets have been opened up for sale and it is anticipated that the fixture will be a sellout prior to game day ,and we therefore advise non-members to make their purchases early to avoid disappointment.

Club owner Derek Beaumont said: “I am sure that this message will be fully supported by our members, given it is only intended to affect those trying to deprive the club that our members dedicate themselves to supporting, all of which has been pivotal in the club’s success on the field.

“I am assured by this, given the number of instances members and friends have notified me of misuse that they have witnessed. Clearly it is frustrating to a member paying to support their club whilst others take advantage of a situation that hasn’t been observed vigilantly via the systems in place to do so, which is why we have taken additional steps to ensure that.

“It is an exciting time for the club as the realistic opportunity presents itself for our first ever home playoff game which brings significant benefits for members in terms of ticket opportunities and even more so should we face an away game in the semifinals in particular at Hull KR where there are only 1,100 tickets available.

“Over the coming days and weeks, we will be announcing some retention signings from our squad. However, as per our protocol we will not be announcing incoming signings during the regular season.

“May I take this opportunity to thank our members, partners and supporters for the fantastic support you have shown the club throughout the year so far and urge you to continue to grow our Famileigh.

“It is with your support that we have not only maintained our Grade A status but increased our score to start with a 16 as a minimum from last year’s low 15 score. There are only two games left in the Leopards Den before the playoffs commence. Let’s show Lammy and the lads how much we believe in them by packing out LSV and being loud and proud.”
