The club would like to express sincere thanks to all five players for their commitment, dedication and contribution to Leigh Leopards, and wish them all the very best for the future.

Mairead Quinn

Mairead Quinn’s rugby league journey began with Leigh Miners, where she progressed through the junior ranks before moving into the open-age side.

She spent 12 seasons with Leigh Miners, making more than 150 appearances, captaining the side and helping them to a championship victory which secured promotion to the Women’s Super League as the first community club to achieve that feat.

When Leigh Leopards were formed in 2022, Mairead became an integral part of the new club and continued to lead from the front.

As captain, she guided the Leopards to victory in the promotion final in 2024. Following a break from rugby league in 2025 after the birth of her son, Tommy, Mairead returned in 2026 to captain the side once again.

Across her time with Leigh Leopards, Mairead made 49 appearances and scored four tries, while also representing England Students, England Community Lions – whom she captained – and Ireland, for whom she made seven appearances.
