Nisbet, 24, joined the club from St Helens in 2021 and is second behind Keanan Brand as the current longest serving player in the Leopards squad.

 

Leopards Head of Rugby Chris Chester said: “Tom is a great professional who is very popular around the club and plays a big role as a valuable squad player.

 

“Unfortunately, he’s found first team opportunities limited so this move will enable to play games at a good standard in a good environment.

 

“Widnes are going realy well under Allan Coleman at the moment and I am looking forward to watching Tom play for them. 

 

“It’s a mutually beneficial deal. Widnes get a good player who will strengthen their squad and Tom gets valuable minutes that will enable him to push for a first team place when he returns to us.”
