Betfred Super League Round 12
Thursday 22 May 2025
Leopards Den (8pm)
Leigh Leopards 12-26 Hull FC
Leopards’ third successive defeat came as a bitter blow as a Hull side including five of their former players took the spoils at the Leopards Den.
Cup-winning skipper John Asiata was highly influential as his side shocked an expectant home crowd with their dominant first half performance.
Four tries and five goals from the boot of Aidan Sezer had the visitors in dreamland as they took a 26-0 lead into the interval.
Leopards could do nothing right in a first half packed with their defensive errors and failure to mount any concerted pressure.
They did recover somewhat in the second half, and it was no coincidence that Hull failed to score a point after Asiata was forced off with a hamstring tear.
Leopards rescued some pride with two second half tries to mean that all 38 points in the game were scored in front of the Hull fans in the South Stand.
But Hull’s win- their first in five games- was never in doubt.
