Leigh Leopards are delighted to confirm that Louis Brogan has signed a new three-year contract until the end of 2027.
Brogan, 24, currently on loan at Widnes Vikings, joined his hometown club from Swinton Lions and made his Leopards debut off the bench in the 28-28 draw against Castleford Tigers last month, earning Heritage Number HN#1562.
Head of Rugby Chris Chester said: “One of several new faces who came in at the start of the season, Louis initially found first team opportunities limited.
“But he really took his chance on his debut against Castleford and impressed everyone, and it was almost the fairytale start for the local lad too.
“Louis is definitely one for the future and he’s already showing strong signs of what he can offer.”
Louis Brogan said: “I am absolutely made up to secure my future here at the Leopards.
“I’ve enjoyed every moment since I’ve started. All the lads and the staff have been amazing, and to see the North Stand in full force during my debut makes me excited for more.”
Brogan came through the ranks at Leigh Miners Rangers and won England youth honours. He signed professional forms for Swinton Lions after first playing for the then Centurions in a preseason Warm Up Game in January 2019 during John Duffy’s tenure as head coach.
He enjoyed an outstanding 2023 campaign as the Lions maintained their Championship status with a last day win at Halifax and scored 12 tries in 74 appearances for Swinton.
A former Leigh St Mary’s High School pupil who is a fully qualified electrician, Louis Brogan is sponsored by The Leigh Fans.
