Leigh Leopards have an exciting vacancy for the Head of Rugby.
This is a full-time role with an immediate start date.
The Head of Rugby is a high-profile position at Leigh Leopards, who have been the third best performing team in Super League over the last three years.
This important and coveted role is a multi-faceted one requiring a wide skill set.
The chosen candidate must have leadership skills and demonstrate a wide knowledge of Rugby League both in the UK and worldwide, understanding technical and tactical experience, as well as management ability, empathy and an ability to communicate effectively and extensively with a wide range of people.
The Head of Rugby will report to the club owner and CEO and effectively formulate a short and long-term plan for all teams and staffing within the Rugby departments and its pathways, ensuring efficiency is maintained across all. Administrative and computer literacy will be necessary to enable this.
A key element of the role will be to actively contribute to recruitment and lead / monitor a strategy while working within the parameters of the RFL Salary Cap regulations. Knowledge of the Salary Cap regulations and recruitment processes and negotiating skills is essential.
Regular involvement with the club’s Reserve team coach, Head of Youth and WSL Team is also required.
The Head of Rugby will have an important role as a custodian of the club’s family values and pursuit of excellence within a strong team environment and culture.
They will build a national and international profile to augment the club’s position as a leading team at the elite Super League level and be responsible for ensuring that the club’s playing group maintains its high level of behaviour and values as role models within our community.
The Head of Rugby will be expected to demonstrate a strong belief in these values and have a personal reputation in line with these.
While certain qualifications are essential, the club will consider candidates from a wide range of Rugby environments and has no preconception of the background of the next Head of Rugby.
