Fitfield Ltd to continue sponsorship

Leigh Leopards are delighted to announce that Fitfield Limited (www.fitfield.com) have continued their long-standing partnership with the club by sponsoring the home and away kit for the 2024 season.

Fitfield Limited have built an outstanding reputation over the years by delivering first-class groundworks and civil engineering services throughout the North-West and many of their management and employees are avid Leigh Leopards supporters.

Their partnership with the club now extends to a decade and as one of the club’s longest commercial partners, Fitfield Limited director John Maxwell says the 2023 season was his most enjoyable.

“What a fantastic season,” he said. “To see the team achieve the Challenge Cup win at Wembley and finish fifth in Super League was like a dream coming true and we were proud to see our company name featured prominently on the rebranded shirts.

“Being part of the growing Leopards family and supporting the club in this way makes us all very proud. The club plays a huge part in the local community and reaches out to so many people. The cup win brought so much happiness and pride to young and old.

“This is our tenth successive year of sponsorship. We are delighted to continue our partnership and are looking forward to helping the club continue to progress on and off the field.”

Leigh Leopards owner Derek Beaumont said: “I am delighted Fitfield have again committed to supporting the Club for the 2024 season. They are a very loyal and valued sponsor and to have a commercial partnership with the club for a decade demonstrates outstanding loyalty and support.

“For them to commit again to another significant investment shows how passionate they are for the club to continue to achieve its ambitions. The club is very fortunate to have their backing year in, and year out.

“Having gone to the same school as John, it’s really pleasing to see two former pupils of the town working together for the betterment of our club and local community.

“Whilst we both played rugby at school, I don’t think either of us in our wildest dreams would have thought we would end up in business and with our respective companies’ logos displayed on the club’s shirt, and most definitely not one that would lift the Challenge Cup trophy.

“John is a great family guy and a great family sponsor of our club and it’s always great to see him, Maureen and the rest of the Maxwells around the place.”

John Maxwell is a former professional player; a product of the local community game and a former BARLA tourist home-town pride is something that resonates with the company’s directors and employees.

“The company was established in 1990 and we are a local, family run business based in Atherton,” he said. “We provide first class groundworks and civil engineering services, delivering projects on time and within budget throughout the North-West.

“We have an experienced and fully involved management team and are committed to long term investment in training and Health and Safety.

“Our directly employed and skilled workforce operate within a dynamic organisation, with the additional specialist knowledge of sub-contractors when necessary. Our long-term staff retention and continual investment in plant and vehicles means that our reputation for first class service goes before us. We are proud to maintain long term relationships with large clients.

“The majority of our workforce are from the local area, and many are Leigh Leopards supporters. We will all be wearing our Leopards shirts with pride, both home and away.”
