Head of Youth Kieron Purtill said: “Progress had been rapid since we attained academy status earlier in the year.
“Currently we have 30 Academy players, 10 reserve players and 32 scholarship players (72 in total) plus 10 staff looking after them all.
“All teams are training at the LSV facilities doing both field and gym. Academy boys are entering week 6 of pre season, Reserves are into week 3 and scholarship are entering week 4.
“Saturdays have been alternative sessions for the Academy / Reserves involving RFL testing at Leeds Beckett University, running around Pennington flash, and on Monday night we spent a superb team building exercise at Rowley’s pool hall.
“The Academy are in training four times a week. We have also managed to get Noel Lewis-Gardner an apprenticeship with iDuct, one of our sponsors at the club.
“We are planning an official launch day in January, where we will announce our signings and our plans for the season”
