Hanley and Ofahengaue named in 2026 Super League Dream Team

Leigh Leopards stars Umyla Hanley and Joe Ofahengaue have been named in the 2026 Betfred Super League Dream Team.

Hanley retains his place at centre after also earning selection in 2025, while Ofahengaue has been included for the first time following an outstanding first full season in Super League.

Despite seeing his campaign disrupted by injury, Hanley has once again established himself among the competition’s leading players. The 24-year-old has scored 10 tries in just 16 appearances for the Leopards this season, with his performances earning him a second successive Dream Team selection.

Hanley is one of only three players to retain his place from the 2025 side, alongside Leeds Rhinos pair Jake Connor and James McDonnell.

Ofahengaue, meanwhile, has been rewarded for a hugely impressive campaign at the heart of the Leopards pack.

The powerful prop joined Leigh midway through the 2025 season and has made a significant impact during his first full Super League campaign, making 22 appearances and scoring four tries.

His destructive carries and physical presence have made him a key figure in Adrian Lam’s side, with his performances recognised through a first Dream Team selection and Heritage Number 234.

Hanley receives Heritage Number 225 following his initial selection last season.

The inclusion of two Leopards continues the club’s strong representation in the competition’s annual Dream Team. Five Leigh players were selected following the historic 2023 campaign, with Tom Amone, Josh Charnley, Lachlan Lam, Edwin Ipape and John Asiata all earning places.

The 2026 selection process adopted a new approach, with supporters given the opportunity to vote for the first time.

The Man of Steel panel accounted for 50 per cent of the overall vote, specially selected members of the media contributed 30 per cent and supporters made up the remaining 20 per cent.

Hanley and Ofahengaue will receive their Dream Team shirts during a presentation at Old Trafford on Monday as part of the Super League Play-Off Launch.
