I am really saddened to hear that Sharon has sadly passed away. It is always sad to learn of one of our famileigh becoming marked within our membership as a dragonfly.
When doing so for Sharon, it made me think that one day someone will be marking that for me and each and every one of us, and made me reflect on the importance of the privilege of life.
Sharon was a great person, a fighter, and someone who faced a tough battle with MND head-on — not for herself, but to raise awareness for others and much-needed funds for the charity. More importantly, to give others strength and hope.
I recall her efforts to walk around the stadium, but I think knowing Zak Hardaker would be there was all the motivation she needed.
I first learned of Sharon’s plight when she cancelled her membership due to not being able to attend because of the terrible effects of MND. One of the biggest pleasures of being involved in the club is being able to make small decisions that have a big impact on others, and her face lit up when we had her gold membership box delivered despite being cancelled, and she wore her shirt with pride.
She remained a member, and her heritage number #3187 will forever be assigned to her name and noted as a dragonfly, as she soars above knowing that what we think is the be-all and end-all actually is nothing of the magnitude of what is now the life she knows.
God bless you, Sharon
