Signed from St Helens, for whom he came through their scholarship and academy ranks, Polec originally emerged through the Woolston Rovers system at community level.

He represented Lancashire in the 2025 Academy Origin game and made his senior debut on a short-term loan in Salford’s opening game of the 2026 season against Oldham.
