MY RUGBY LEAGUE JOURNEY: When I was at university, I was playing netball and one of my best friends was from Castleford, so we always watched rugby together. She wanted to try out rugby and convinced me to go to the taster session with her, but there were only women’s rugby union teams so that’s where we went. After that I played rugby at university for three years before graduating and then moved to Manchester and played union for my local team there. I only got into League when Leigh formed their women’s team two seasons ago. My dad David used to play for Leigh and had seen the information about the trials on his Facebook and convinced me to go and try out even though I’d never played League before, and the rest is history as they say.
