Keanan emerged as a player of high promise at Widnes Vikings and was snapped up by Warrington Wolves in 2020. He joined Leigh initially on loan and was one of the club’s most consistent players in the pandemic interrupted season of 2021. He scored 13 tries during Leigh’s record-breaking 2022 campaign but had to be patient when the Leopards regained their Super League place.

He was outstanding in Leopards’ Magic weekend victory over Salford in 2024 and at the end of the season made his international debut for Ireland as they beat Scotland 36-6 at Gateshead. Keanan is the club’s longest serving player and after a fine start to the 2025 season he was rewarded with a three-year contract extension and formed a dynamic right-wing partnership with Umyla Hanley, finishing the campaign as the club’s top try-scorer with 20 tries.

He was voted as the club’s Best Attacker at the end of season awards, confirmation of his break-out season which confirmed him as one of Super League’s brightest prospects.
