Utility forward Matt Davis has become an integral member of the Leopards squad since joining the club from Warrington Wolves. His versatility, work ethic and experience never go unnoticed by the coaching staff, and he began the 2025 season just shy of 200 senior appearances.
Matt originally started his rugby league life at Leicester Storm and was selected to play for the Midlands Academy. From there, he joined the London Broncos academy and made his senior debut in 2016 against Featherstone Rovers in the Challenge Cup Fourth Round.
During his time in the capital, Davis earned further experience with loan spells at Hemel Stags and London Skolars, before playing a major part in the Broncos’ side that won the 2018 Championship and thus gained promotion to Super League. By this point, Davis’s performances had caught the eye of several teams, which prompted Warrington to sign him and he played in the 2019 Challenge Cup Final when the Wolves defeated St. Helens 18-4 at Wembley. In this fixture, Davis played alongside current Leigh winger Josh Charnley. The pair combined again on the big stage as Leopards lifted the Challenge Cup in 2023. Matt’s younger brother Sam plays for Salford Red Devils after impressing with London Broncos.
