Christmas Toy Appeal

Leigh Leopards are once again throwing their full support behind the “Compassion In Action” Christmas toy appeal.

We are calling for all Leythers to support this worthwhile cause by taking a new toy to Patrick House in Leigh by December 15th to be donated to somebody less fortunate.

The club has worked alongside Compassion in Action for many years on this initiative which has seen joy brought to many households across our local area.

Compassion In Action CEO Pam Gilligan recognises the support that Leigh Leopards have given the Christmas Toy Appeal.

“Compassion in Action is a registered Charity whose vision is ‘Whole Person Care’” she said. “This care comes in many forms, including practical care, physical care, social care, and mental care. This year our non-clinical mental health project has successfully delivered on these objectives.

“Daily we also provide furniture, food and clothes to families in crisis, giving hope at a time of despair.

“This is the 16th year of our Christmas Project providing three new presents per child and full Christmas Lunch for every family referral. The success of this project would not be possible without wonderful organisations and companies who donate money and presents to ensure every family referral is provided for.

“Leigh Leopards have been instrumental in their belief and support of the work of our Charity, especially at Christmas. The club owner, Derek Beaumont, has been our community rock, helping us to help others. The whole Leopards team and fans, with club captain John Asiata providing an inspirational lead, have supported our appeal year on year. Last year over 1,300 families in our community received presents and a full Christmas Lunch.”

“We are ‘Stronger Together’ for our community.

Leigh Leopards Derek Beaumont, a huge supporter of the work Compassion In Action do for the town proudly stated.

“The work that Pam and her team do in the community is fantastic and is vital.

“We are privileged to be able to support this and it would be great if any of our fans who are able to do so can add an extra item to their shopping list to make Christmas a reality for some children that otherwise wouldn’t experience it how perhaps most of us did and possibly take for granted.

“The club have supported the initiative by ordering 100 red card memberships open to any age category which will be provided to Pam when the cards arrive and the packages are completed.”

You can support this appeal by bringing a new toy suitable for a Child aged 0-16 to Patrick House, 58 Leigh Road, Leigh, WN7 1QR. Offices are open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm.
