Keanan emerged as a player of high promise at Widnes Vikings and was snapped up by Warrington Wolves in 2020. He joined Leigh initially on loan and was one of the club’s most consistent players in the pandemic interrupted season of 2021. He scored 13 tries during Leigh’s record-breaking 2022 campaign but has had to be patient since the Leopards regained their Super League place.
He was outstanding in Leopards’ Magic weekend victory over Salford and at the end of the season made his international debut for Ireland as they beat Scotland 36-6 at Gateshead. Keanan is the club’s longest serving player. After a fine start to the 2025 season Keanan was rewarded with a three-year contract extension.
