Lachlan “Lockie” Lam, brings a blend of skill, determination, and potential to the Leigh Leopards. Son of our Head Coach Adrian Lam, Lockie was born into a family deeply entrenched in the sport, and he has quickly made a name for himself with his impressive performances on the field.
As a member of the Papua New Guinea national team and having represented the Sydney Roosters in the NRL, Lam has demonstrated his ability to excel at the highest levels of competition. Known for his agility, vision, and playmaking abilities, Lam’s dynamic style of play adds a formidable dimension to the Leigh Leopards’ lineup, positioning him as a key player to watch in the Super League.
With a deep-rooted passion for rugby league and a desire to leave a lasting impact on the sport, Lam famously kicked the winning drop goal, in golden point extra-time for Leigh Leopards in the 2023 Challenge Cup Final against Hull Kingston Rovers, after the match finished 16–16 at full time. Lam also won the coveted Lance Todd Trophy as man of the match. Born on 25 March 1998 in Sydney, Lam played his early rugby with Wigan St Patrick’s while his father was playing for Wigan Warriors. He made his senior debut in 2017 and joined Leigh during the 2022 season, quickly making his mark on a record-breaking campaign.
